Firouzja has been the Icon of the Triveni Continental Kings since 2024. He joined the squad late that year and won the title in London, then led the Kings to the top of the league stage in Mumbai in 2025, where he was named Most Valuable Player. The Kings kept him on board one for 2026.

Global Chess League record

In 2024 Firouzja was added to the Kings squad shortly before the season in London. The Kings finished second in the league stage behind the PBG Alaskan Knights, then won both matches of the final, 9-7 and 13-7. Firouzja beat Anish Giri in the first match.

In 2025 the Kings won the league stage in Mumbai with 24 match points from eight wins in ten matches. Firouzja won his first five games, including a win over world champion Gukesh, and finished on 7.5 points from 10 games, the best score of the season. In the final the Kings lost to the Alpine SG Pipers 2-4 and 1.5-4.5.
